DHCP Radius Proxy

Description

This mode is intended for network building without a DHCP-server being present on the network.
Radius-server instead of DHCP-server is used, in this case the fastDPI in conjunction with the fastPCRF serves as a DHCP-server.
This operation mode can be briefly described as follows:

DHCP relay agent

Description

This mode is intended for the networks where DHCP servers are used to assign IP addresses.
This mode is used to track the beginning/end of user session.
It is assumed that DHCP servers are placed within a separate network segment that is not directly accessible to users.
FastDPI BRAS serves as a relay agent for DHCP requests from user equipment to DHCP servers and for reverse-direction flow, i.e. for responses from DHCP servers to user equipment.

DHCP Dual Proxy

DHCP Dual Proxy (hereinafter — Dual DHCP) — in this mode, fastDPI operates as a single authorization point, requesting all parameters from the RADIUS server via fastPCRF in a single request. The mode is optimized for Dual Stack (IPv4/IPv6) subscribers, but also fully supports IPv4-only and IPv6-only subscribers.
